Web Designing is a combination of actions, comprising several steps. Each step of web designing needs perfection and proper co-ordination with each other. Following are the basic components involved in a website design:

Home Page Design

Home page design is the most important aspect in a website. It is the first impression of website for visitors, and it should reflect the actual purpose and vision behind website. A home page consists of different sub-sections like header, footer and main portions. In some websites, there are different kinds of banners for advertisements.

There are following things that need to emphasize in a home page:

1. Home Page should be attractive, with a proper colour theme. Light colours are preferred in home page design.
2. There should be a link for every subsections of website. Users should not have to search for particular information.
3. It should clearly reflect the purpose of website that means if website is for online product selling then popular and featured products should be given place on home page.
4. All-important information like about us, contact us, and feedback or suggestion form should be placed properly.
5. Website must contain a sitemap. It increases the prospects of website for search engine optimization purpose, as well as help users in finding the desired link.
6. Do not stretch your home page. Try to make it compact so that users do not have to scroll too much for viewing information.
7. Remember that the best website design approach ensures required information at a distance of maximum three clicks. If your website visitor has to click more than three links in order to reach information of their interest then you have to think again on design aspects of your website.

If your website is following all the above said guidelines, you are really on a way of getting maximum benefits out of your website.

CSS (Cascading Style Sheet)

A CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) ensures an even look of text, links, and placement of objects throughout the website. In fact, a perfect Style Sheet is one of the most important requirements for your website. If your website had different font faces at every page, it will look tedious to visitors.

Other important things include a disclaimer for copyright contents on your website. A photo gallery and chat section for online users will also helps you gain popularity, and business in return.
