While saving your PSD file for the web you must change the "File Type" option to "Images only" and "Slices" option to "Selected Slices". Other options may damage the original HTML structure.
Make changes to the elements that you can't change in HTML only, e.g. Headers, Company name, etc. you don't need to change regular text which is editable in HTML editor. Do not select slice which contains Search Form while saving for web!
